Our physical and emotional efforts are also matched with financial needs – the school has operating costs that include an experienced teacher, building overhead, updating equipment, family events, and general business costs. In total, the gap between tuition revenues and costs are roughly $10,000.00 for each school year. Since NTCP is a non-profit organization, we depend on our families involvement and resources to raise these funds in several ways. Families agree to:
- Participate in fundraising throughout the year.
- Attend the events that are all enjoyable by the entire family!
Details of fundraising events will be posted on the News page as they happen. Typical fundraising activities are described below.
Wreath Sale (November): Orders for this popular holiday fundraiser are collected in early November for delivery around Thanksgiving. Wreaths and swags are generally available.
Plant Sale (Feb/March): This annual fundraiser has been proven successful for several years. Plant sale order forms are due by late March, and orders are delivered in May before Mother’s Day. Copious selections of these top quality plants virtually sell themselves and are a joy throughout summer!
Spring Auction (March): Typically held every other year, the Spring Auction is our premier fundraising event and brings NTCP families and friends together for a night of fun and fellowship.
Annual Fund Drive: Recognizing that the most important “cooperative” moments happen in the classroom, we look to annual giving or a “pass the hat” method as one source of our fundraising. The most efficient way to fundraise is by first asking our enthusiastic parents, guardians, and extended families to support our school with your donations that flow directly to minimizing our budget shortfalls, while allowing families to focus on their school and family activities. Please take part in our drive as is financially comfortable for you family and note that your donation can be broken down into monthly payments. Donations my be sent to North Tacoma Co-op, ATTN: Annual Fund Drive, 310 No. K St, Tacoma WA 98403, or contact our Treasurer to make arrangements.
Gift Matching: Check with your employer as many offer this option and will donate the amount you do to organizations of non-profit status.
United Way of Pierce County: Some of you or your families may already be giving to United Way through your employer – you may simply designate North Tacoma Cooperative Preschool as the recipient of your donation!
